At the time it had to have been much harder. Peter could understand that, in theory. But he hadn't been there, hadn't experienced it. He felt a certain amount of guilt for that. He couldn't help but feel if he'd been out of the tubes he could have done something to help.

But he hadn't and all he could do know was complain about how things had happened. He could only try to wrap his mind around it from the secondhand accounts.
