Bruce almost wants to ask him if he'd have kept him in line himself, but this is an argument he's had before, serious or otherwise, and he's about ready to let it go at this point. Fine, he's an idiot, he gets it. He's not doing it again, for what it's worth, so just let him be.

"We did figure something out. Or, well— people did. They sent them through the Ingress rather than kill them all on sight." Which was the Captains' plan, and that would've definitely ended with a whole lot more bloodshed. But it was still a battle, and people get injured during those, even killed. As much as Bruce would've wanted everyone to walk out of that situation alive, it wouldn't be a realistic expectation to have.

"People just did their best. We had few other options. It's easy talking about it now, but at the time..." He shrugs.
