I'm going to guess that Vibranium is the inorganic matter. [ wouldn't one of his science buddies have a field day. Wheeljack is into some pretty strange sciences. as is Perceptor. but created to house a powerful AI? but this guy's clearly not an AI. ] Maybe it's not so odd. Don't most creations seek to become like their creators in some fashion?

[ back in the day, there had been some pretty zealous Cybertronians. Bee recalls what he knows of human history as well. it might not be the reason, but it would fit. just a little. ]

There used to be, yes. Now? Likely several hundred thousands. Our war did a lot to dwindle our numbers and we have no means to repopulate. Most only remember the war and not the days before it.
