[Tommy's confused for all of five seconds until he realizes that she probably doesn't know everything. Alternate universes means things are different, and Billy probably took it easy on her and told her some of it. Then he had to come along and start talking, not stopping, and now he has to explain.

He lets her hug him, arms at his side as if he doesn't want it, but he leans in, slightly, because he actually does crave the affection.]

I was raised in Springfield, New Jersey by my parents. Frank and Mary Shepherd. They're my biological parents. She gave birth to me. [They were divorced when he was still small and he got tossed around a lot.] I didn't meet Billy until, um, he broke me out of prison and asked me to join his team.

He kept saying that we were twins, because we looked alike and that we're the reincarnated sons of the Scarlet Witch. I didn't believe him at first, because that's crazy you know. I'm just some kid from Jersey. I don't have any brothers. But Billy's really convincing and then we found out it was true.
