[ Whenever Spock's explorations bring him to the expansive engineering deck, Tony is already situated there, elbow-deep in work, because what the hell else would he be doing? He's undeterred by the lowered lighting, though it does make his work significantly more tedious. After a few hours of squinting at advanced circuitry, his patience starts to wear thin.
So it is that he's currently rigging up a lighting system that will power itself from the heat the east engine is constantly producing (no amount of coolant, re-calibration, or increased ventilation seems to make that one happy), which, by the time Spock walks in, mostly involves hanging precariously off a scaffolding, flashlight clenched between his teeth, hands flying over a series of wires.
He has the good grace to notice when someone walks in - Spock should be honored, that doesn't always happen - and he lets the flashlight drop into one hand before calling out: ]
Uh, the mess hall's like, two decks away. Just so you know.
[ Because why the hell would anyone not stationed in engineering be down here right now? ]
