Komaeda laughs a little at her question. "Not at all," he says, holding up a hand in a placating gesture. "On the planet I come from, cats have definitely never grown on trees, they come from other cats. Apparently it's different out here."

He still looks gently amused as he continues: "Well, you see, I'm not really good for much. I have no skills, and I don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. So I just try to do what I can to help others reach greater heights. So, while you're so qualified and working so hard to navigate this incredible machine through the vast and treacherous expanse of space, it stands to reason that I'm just playing with cats."
