Tali's lucky in a lot of ways - through everything that's happened, everything she's seen and done, she's never been so utterly devoid of hope that any permanent option has occurred to her. Not even looking at Bruce now does the idea pop into her mind. Even if it had, it certainly wouldn't be something she'd have the nerve to ask about. Everything about this is painful enough for them both.

"I'm sorry," is all she can think to say. "That you have to live with that - and with people like me interrogating you about it."

At that, she does manage the very smallest of grins.
