They may have not realized it, or maybe they didn't want to worry people. Either way, some people may have reached that conclusion, and those who haven't... it's— probably for the best that they don't know. I've been trying to keep it out of the air from here, but it's nearly impossible. And having panic spread across the ship right now would only end in chaos.
