Anyone who supported a mutiny would be thinking only of the immediate future and not about how the captains have a huge amount of environmental information and experience that we don't. Aside from that, we don't know if they have friends, or who their friends are, or how often they check in with each other. They'd have to know that at least some of us would consider these factors.
