[ Despite the fact that her workout sessions with Adrien were a new part of her routine, she was still in fairly good shape, even with the setback that her deaths had caused. The attempt to get up is too little, too late for Wash, as she's already scrambling to the floor to pin him on his back and trap his thighs down with her knees. She's strong and scrappy, but she's smaller than him and he weighs more.

Good thing he's been knocked for a loop.

Throughout all this she's silent, not taunting, not cursing or screaming at him, just concentrating on what she's carrying through with doing. She doesn't want to bust his face up, despite the convenience of doing so at this angle—she's interested in leaving him with more substantial injuries than a simple broken nose—but she does want to stun him, so she aims a heavy punch at the side of his jaw, aiming for that place known as "the button"—that sweet spot that when hit just right will lead to disorientation and momentary unconsciousness.

With that hit delivered she jumps up and drives her knees into his abdomen, letting gravity do the work, coming to rest in a straddle across his ribs. She's about to give him one more one-two hit combo with her fists to his face, on either side of his cheekbones, when a major disturbance hits the ship. They're tossed in the air, and her sudden lack of any purchase on him leaves her flailing, kicking against the wall. They land, and her hip hits him heavily in about the same place where she had kneed him—she distinctly hears a crack, though she's not sure if that's his ribs breaking or his head hitting the wall.

And just as quickly as things had gone off-kilter they return, leaving her rolling away from him across the floor. ]
