welcome to the jungle [OTA] [It’s not the most glamorous site for a landing. As the world resolves itself around you, you find yourself in a grimy alleyway, the drone of speeder traffic far above you mingling with the near-deafening music pounding out of a nearby club. Next to you, Zam leans against a wall and laughs.]
Stars, it worked. [Her voice is breathless, eyes cast upward and fixed to an adjacent rooftop.] This is… this is exactly where I was. Before the Moira. [After a few moments, she turns her head to look at her travel companion. Her expression is still somewhat far off, but there’s a smile on her lips.] Entertainment district on Coruscant. Not a bad place to end up for a few hours if you know where to go. [And thankfully, she does.]
time took us to where the water was [closed to miles] [The strange reverse-Ingress had brought her to Coruscant on the first couple of jumps, so it’s only natural that Zam assumes it will do the same when she jumps in ahead of Miles. Apparently, the Ingress has different plans. It only takes a fraction of a second to realize they’re not on the city-planet Zam has come to expect.]
Fierfek, [Zam breathes as she becomes aware of their surroundings. They’re indoors, in what seems to be a living space, the walls, floors, and ceilings all a uniform, almost sterile white and blue. The muted sound of rain against the rooftop drums overhead. Miles only has a moment to take it all in before Zam grabs his wrist and yanks both of them against a wall, a finger coming to her lips to signal for silence. If that wasn’t enough of an indication that this is not a place they should be, her face is already changing, features shifting to those of a stranger’s.
Who is she kidding, Jango’s going to shoot them both regardless of what they look like if he finds them here. He’s done worse for people so much as looking at his son, much less for two people breaking and entering the place he lives. The fact that this breaking and entering was wholly accidental wouldn’t change that fact.]
home is where the heart pulled the nails out of its feet and ran [closed to bel] [They’d karked it up. Zam could have sworn Bel was signalling for her to jump but clearly she’d misunderstood. They had ended up jumping at roughly the same time and once they were falling, it’s not like Zam could do anything to change it. Still, it’s more of an annoyance than anything: a few hours spent in some kind of fused world rather than in their intended destination. As they land, Zam wonders idly whether Bel’s “Beta Colony” will be mixed with Coruscant’s endless city sprawl or Kamino’s perpetual rains and massive oceans.
Turns out, the answer is neither. The harsh sunlight that glares down at them is immediately familiar, momentarily blinding before Zam’s eyes adjust. She really, really hopes they’re not where she thinks they are.]
Sorry about that. I think I karked up that jump. [Her heart’s pounding, but her tone is casual. Unconcerned.] This place look familiar to you?
