[closed] Two snakes walk into a bar...
Who: Venom and Liquid Snake
When: End of April
Where: The Bar
What: Venom and Liquid end up talking and sharing a drink at the bar after the events earlier in the month.
Warnings: Angst, swearing, possible fighting and drink umbrella fights.
Ahab had retired to the bar after the rather manic last few weeks with the zombie prisoners and nakedness. Contamination they said. Yeah right. He placed himself up on the bar stool and looked around to see if there was anyone else he knew. He didn't frequent the bar often, only when he needed to. He had to wash the scent of zombie prisoner from him. He was going to order a whiskey but held off when he felt someone behind him. Turning around he kind of expected to see the blond man show up.

He stayed silent for a good while when he mentioned the station. "Not really," he said, finally. "It... Look, it didn't go so well down there, alright?"
no subject
"I'll take your word for it. I've been on missions that didn't go well and shit happened." He sighed. Yeah. Lots of bad things had happened in his life and he didn't want to talk about them much either. He just laid a hand gently on Liquid's shoulder. If he wanted to shrug it off Snake wouldn't take offence, as he was used to the blond's hatred towards him.

At the hand on his shoulder, he clenched a fist, reached for his knife, an automatic response. But he relaxed, and then he simply did shrug the hand off. Hey, at least he didn't try to kill him. "'Shit happened' is an understatement."
no subject
"Yeah. Don't worry about. It's over not." He removed his hand and was grateful that Liquid hadn't sliced it off. "How about another fruity drink? Want an umbrella with yours?" Snake smiled, as he grabbed a nearby umbrella from the bar and popped it into his glass.
no subject
"Yeah. It is. It's done." A relief, for sure. Now, Liquid certainly wasn't going to go slicing people's arms off! In public, anyway. He snorted at the umbrella and lifted his glass up. "Heh, let me finish this one first, hm? Love that a spaceship bar has these stupid things."
no subject
"This one's good. You should try it." He wondered what drink Liquid would pick next. These alien cocktails weren't half bad.

And still kind of mentally kicking himself about the whole fiasco, but that wouldn't go away for some time.
"Told you these things were good, though." Who cared about any sort of stigma? Liquid was the kind of person who'd beat up anyone who said anything to start with.
"You end up down there then?" He couldn't help but be curious, all the while avoiding mentioning what had happened to him.
no subject
"Yeah. I went down to rescue people stuck down there. Encountered lots of zombie prisoners and some attacked me. Beat 'em off though." Snake smirked slightly at that. He found it amusing when snapping their necks or smashing their heads into the ground with powerful CQC moves. No zombie could attack the Boss and get away with it.

Ugh. He had to stop thinking about this sort of thing. Punch some things. Punch a lot of things. Finally he downed the rest of his drink, setting the glass down. "Glad to be heading somewhere else, anyway."
no subject
"Part of me wonders if Del Pascia wasn't just some test for us by the captains. Place us down there for a salvage mission then add some crazed prisoners for fun."
no subject
"That's a bit more paranoid than anything I could've come up with." Not even remotely on his mind, that was for certain. "I doubt Del Pascia itself was anything like that on its own. However... I could buy the entire trip being something like that. Just different sorts of tests, all for different reasons." Unlikely, but who knew?
no subject
"You're alive and that's all that matters. We're both alive and well, along with everyone else."
no subject
He was still working on figuring it all out.
"How's that for a consolation prize," he said with a snort. "Alright, sure. There's that. Suppose I can't complain in that regard."
no subject
"Part of me wishes I was back in Afghanistan or Africa doing missions again." Snake felt that was normal. Getting feedback from Kaz and Ocelot, whilst dodging bullets and helicopter gunship fire at the same time. Good times.

He took a drink. He was shit at this trying not to think about it thing.
"Does seem like getting back to the old things'd be easier, yes. But clearly if that's happening at all it isn't happening anytime soon." So this was where they'd get their missions for a while. "At least here I'm not dead."
no subject
"Yeah. Do you miss your base back home?" Ahab ordered another drink and received his blue fruity drink, stabbing a fresh umbrella inside it.
no subject
"...I miss my team. Doesn't matter where we were sent. But I've lived with their loss for years. I can manage." He's been managing. Maybe he should have been a little better at showing his appreciation back then.
"Do you miss yours? I remember the soldiers back then all seemed to love you. Pissed me right off."
