Liquid might have shown the slightest bit of recognition at the use of his old nom de guerre, but it was gone pretty quickly. At least outwardly. Inwardly, the fight still continued, but perhaps he was getting a second wind.

Miller's hand gripped his arm and for a moment he just stared, not moving, not speaking.
"Don't touch me!" he shouted, pulling away. If there wasn't much to his expression before, there certainly was now, rage visibly building as his face twisted into a sneer. There he was.
But only for a moment. Deep breaths. No. No anger here.
Just a hell of a lot of doubt. Not that he wasn't doubting things to begin with. Not that his true beliefs hadn't been trying to break through whatever grip this place had on him.
