There is not one ounce of Alys that believes her son wants to leave on pure chivalry. She studies Elizabeth for a moment before her gaze shifts back to her son, studying him even harder. She could keep him, but she has a feeling that at this point, it would be more beneficial for her to speak alone with Elizabeth.
