[OPEN] full speed right ahead

Who: Liquid Snake and anybody else!
When: mid-March onwards
Where: The Moira (Various spots, cargo bay, his room) and Ceta (just wandering around, totally working)
What: non-event stuff. Liquid does his job, explores things, gets some presents, and sits in a chair.
Warnings: nothing, will update if necessary

[cargo bay]

Liquid was a little surprised when he received the message on his MID. Sure, he'd put in a request for a few things, but the last he'd expected was to actually get something. Meant they must have had the stuff lying around. Maybe he should have asked earlier instead of waiting around, although he supposed going by the book was the best way to do things. Either way, though, they had everything he wanted... including the box.

The box he had to take away from cargo bay. Of course, it was obvious it was a box of things, but it was a small amount of things for such a large box and the fact that he'd even gotten one to begin with was particularly embarrassing. Yes, he was plagued with the family Box Thing. Still, who the hell was going to be taking it and seeing how light it was?

Of course, it'd be easy to notice when he opened it to see what was inside, anyway, since he didn't take it away before he did. A package of razors, some shaving cream. Look, he'd be able to keep the beard at bay for a long time without having to go to the salon. And, of course, a knife, fit for stabbing. You know, for self-defense.

It was like Space Christmas.

[Nomo Deck, room 005- open to roommates or anyone who knocks on the door I guess]

The box with the knife and razors and shaving cream was one thing, but when he made his way back to his room the next day, there was apparently an additional item that made him pause the second he stepped through the door.

Something in that room hadn't been there before. Something in the corner nearest to where he slept, something white, and plastic, and, well, chairlike.

"Oh my god."

It was a pretty nondescript plastic lawn chair, but it was scuffed and stained just so, in certain places, and holy shit did it bring back memories. It was his chair. His "throne," which he'd spent plenty of time sitting on as "Nyoka ya Mpembe," leader of a group of child soldiers in Angola.

Vintage 1984. Ah, the memories.

Well, obviously he had to go sit in it, hands behind his head, legs spread out like he didn't have a care in the world. And that's where he stayed, for... a pretty long time, really.

[WILDCARD - working hard or hardly working]

One thing a counterintelligence officer needed to know was just about everything. This, of course, was justification enough for Liquid to try and stick his nose into just about anything he could.

Taking an armful of snacks from the mess hall? Working. Working out? Working. Playing video games in the lounge? Working. Watching whales down on Ceta? Working. Actually working? Working.

Ah, job perks. He sure did work hard.

[Liquid will be wandering around both the ship and Ceta, keeping an eye on things and "gathering intel", so if you want to plot things out or just start or whatever, go right ahead. (thumbs up)]

☄ CARGO BAY
Niko hadn't been warned about Liquid. Not really. Everything was confusing enough, and the most he knew was "more than one Snake" which meant that he ended up calling Solid "his" Snake, Venom "horn" Snake, Big Boss "that guy", and this one?

Well, fuck if he knew. Just that the guy was blond. And he'd seen him around on the network to gather he was a snake. A snake with a box.

At least he wasn't in it this time.

"Hey, man." The Serb said as he came over, raising his hand to get his attention. "You going to need some help with that? Or are you just going to pick it up and put it in your pocket. Because I've seen people just sort of do shit like this before, I actually don't mean it as asshole question this time."

("Working"/Lounge! OOC note that Kain's not really human anymore thanks to his previous game/CRAU.)

At some point, "Playing video games in the lounge" was going to get an audience; one that was curled awkwardly on a couch nearby, arms folded on the back of it so he could look over it. And avoid maiming it; couches weren't really made for people with tails and back spines.

As seriously and intently as he's focused on the game, you'd think it was something much more important than it was.

Which Kain was trying to pretend wasn't because he was trying to figure out what it was without admitting he didn't know.

"Yeah, I saw this woman just pick a giant crate up as if it is nothing. And a box move all by itself."

He had already seen more things while on these ships than he ever would have considered before. It now all slid off like water off a duck's back. It all blew over his head, leaving a sense of casual indifference which, truly, was the great benefit to any shitty life. The ability to dismiss the inexplicable and therefore never acknowledging anything as impossible to deal with.

He leaned for a glance at the box.

Back up at Liquid.

Back at the box.

"You're going to get in that, aren't you?" Oh he's seen this happen before...

"It seems to be a thing lately. I don't really get it. Why is it that boxes seem like such a good idea."

He was probably asking the wrong person. He could always ask his coworker, the first guy he saw go sneaking off in one. But it's still curious enough to bring up.

Maybe he's being honest. But it's a good people sized box, and those seem to be a favorite.

"Well, you remember that guy that got tranquilized? Here in the cargo bay? Someone was using a box shaped like a tank. I never found out who. Just that I know it is not my coworker, even if he also likes boxes. I saw him use one when we went out on mission together."

Niko gestured around as he spoke, to the cage area where Bruce got shot and where he'd seen the box moving.

"Yeah. I thought you two looked a little bit alike." Not a whole lot, though. But their faces were similar the more he looked.

"But yeah. That is the tank I'm talking about. I was wondering where that came from."

"No offense guys, but you have a very confusing family set up. But yeah, I know him. We play darts together." Like normal people that didn't play with guns as a career choice.

"Grand theft box, huh? Punishable by 20 years in prison. So whose was it? Because if they tranqed the walking angry tank man? I would like to ask them not to."

"Thanks. If you could get a name for me, I would appreciate it." Though if he did have the name of that particular person, it would probably go directly to Steve.

He normally wasn't the nosey type, but he did sort of lean to see what Liquid had there. Mostly because improvised weapons were deeply relevant to his interests.

"Hey, you got anything good in there?"

"Hey man, you see this face?" He gestured at himself, making swiping motions with his fingers. "I am lucky if I do not have stubble before noon when I shave. Like fucking sandpaper."

"It is a Slavic thing."

Though now that he thought about it, his roommate was pretty wooly, but he'd never seen Snake more than a little stubbly.

Doing something like that was virtually impossible for Niko. But the problem is that, when Liquid said this, Niko ended up looking down. Just on reflex. And frowned a little at that odd impulse to ask and full well knowing that he didn't actually want to know and now he was wondering.

This was about as bad as the first time he saw Snake in a sneak suit and about gave himself an aneurysm trying to figure out how he squirreled his way into it.

And now he was wondering how much body hair his brother had. And honestly he didn't want to go back to work and be trying to stare at parts that weren't above the neckline on his buddy. "Well. I guess it is now time to clock out and erase everything with vodka."

"Okay. Because considering the things I see on the network?" Which he was sure certain same individuals were regularly responsible for. "You never really know."

But that didn't mean the damage wasn't done.

"If it is any consolation, I think I have a great-aunt who has more facial hair than both you and your brother put together."
