Who: Andrew and anyone, everyone!
When: 19th onward
What: Whale watching, levitating, CAMERA SHENANIGANS
Where: kitchen (M,T, or F afternoon), Ceta, various places
Warnings: I don't know he's crazy? Will add warnings as needed.
lights, camera...
[Andrew hadn't planned on going to the cargo bay anytime soon after trashing it through no fault of his own but as soon as he got the message that he had a delivery he went there straight away. Needless to say the discovery of a camera - no - his camera made him feel a wave of relief wash over him. It was as if someone had cut off his fingers and now they were returned to him. Or something. The laptop is also very welcome, maybe not as urgent, but it's nice to know he doesn't have to worry about filling up his camera with too much footage and running out of room, seeing as he could store them on the laptop as well as edit them. He missed just sitting at a desk, re-watching footage from the day and editing - it was one of the few relaxing joys in his life.
So now he was out an about, sometimes holding his video camera in his hand and sometimes letting it float close by, casually speaking softly to himself. It sounds like he's just introducing certain areas of the ship as his camera pans around. He doesn't seem to care if anyone else is in the area and keeps talking unless addressed.]
"work"
[Andrew didn't really mind his afternoon work shifts (M,T,F) in the kitchen. Unfortunately they were terribly, terribly boring. Anyone who shares a shift with Andrew will find him leaning against the wall with his camera, staring into the viewfinder while various appliances float around performing tasks. Some dishes being washed, rags cleaning countertops, things being stocked, etc.]
...And this is what I do all afternoon sometimes [he mutters to his camera]
whale watching (closed to Nihlus)
[When Andrew had first laid eyes on the flying whales the first thing he thought had been, I wish I had my camera. Now he does, and with their time on Ceta almost being over the obvious course of action was to go watch some whales. Normally he did everything alone, even back home despite having Matt and Steve around did he often spend a considerable amount of time by himself. Now he was getting ready to whale watch with an alien...friend? Was Nihlus a friend? He's hesitant to accept that if only because he's worried that the second he considers someone a friend they'll realize he's awful or something but, well, he liked talking to the turian. And lately he'd been feeling this emptiness after everything that happened back home. It was all still fresh in his mind and quite frankly he could use the distraction. So here he was, camera in hand, ready to record some whales.]

whale watching
It was kind of nice.
Besides, he's yet to see Andrew actually as comfortable as he was filming everything and that was kind of nice too.
The Temporaries were a lot more empty now after everything that'd been going down. It was calm too, the kind of calm that came before storms did, but according to the weather radar, they still had a couple of hours before needing to head back in.]
The whales usually appear more near the edges of the town, away from the boats. You want to try going there?
no subject
Yeah, that's probably a good idea.
[He lets go of his camera, letting it float, while he adjusts his face mask a little as he begins to walk in the right direction. The camera pans out enough to catch them both in the shot.]
no subject
I didn't realize I'd been hanging out with a professional videographer. Should I avoid looking at the camera or is this a documentary style thing?
[Hmm, come to think of it, he probably needs to touch up his face paint soon. But where would he get the right kind of face paint here?]
no subject
It's totally a documentary thing. I actually willingly came here through the Ingress so I could finish my movie on flying whales and aliens.
[His sarcasm is evident but completely playful. The least biting sarcasm ever.]
no subject
Fortunately for you, we have a lot of flying whales and one very beautiful alien.
"work"
That meant a lot of shuffling around. Covering for a friend, Sans wasn't sure what to expect by way of company, but it sure as hell isn't the circus he walks in on.]
Wow. [He says, directly behind Andrew.] Some system you've got goin' here.
no subject
--Uh, yeah. Just...you know, it's a time saver. [He pauses for a moment.] I think I may have done almost everything...
[In case you just dying to do some work, Sans!!!]
no subject
So uh, what information on turians do you have to share with the people at home?
no subject
Don't tell any other turian I said this. We've been trying so long to convince the rest of the galaxy otherwise, but in reality?
All turians, in all of turian history, have only ever liked one song.
Sure, we SAY we like galactic techwave or hanar synth-prog but the truth is, deep down, it's only ever going to be this one. Song. That sings to the very depths of our souls.
[He gives the camera grave look as he draws back, hand hovering over the omni-tool that's appeared above his wrist, looking for all the world like he's about to betray all of turian-kind with this devastating secret.
And then clicks 'play' and what sounds suspiciously like a preppy, pop boy band music fills the air- except it's sung by only one extremely enthusiastic Salarian and very off-key.]
no subject
I gotta get switched to this shift more often. [Sans inspected the pans, eye lights practically glittering with the thrill of less work to do than he thought. What a blessing. This Andrew kid was alright.] N' you can manage all that stuff with one brain? Dang.
no subject
Yeah. [Oh no he sounds impressed. Andrew likes this.] It's easier than it looks. I mean at first it wasn't but, like, I just practiced and stuff.
no subject
[That's all Andrew has to say when he hears the music playing. He's not sure what he had been expecting when Nihlus started to fiddle with his omni-tool but that definitely wasn't it.
He can't help but laugh.]
Soo...is all music where you come from this bad or do turians just have astonishingly bad taste?
no subject
no subject
[Hnng why is he bad at this? He just goes back to looking through the viewfinder of his camera because that's his safe place.]
Uh...[Moving on, especially after he realizes something.] Is that other skeleton your brother? Because like, he said you do something similar.
no subject
Oh, y'know, a little. Not anywhere near as good as him, though. He's a lot like you. [Sans winks.] He loves to practice. It's really cool.
no subject
[Gosh, Andrew.
Fortunately, Nihlus isn't too wounded by the implication that this totally amazing song was terrible. He stops the track in the middle of a particularly awful chorus, chuckling.]
Seriously though, is there anything in particular you'd like to know? Our mother world's and colony's cultures? Food? History? Actual turian music?
no subject
I noticed. He seemed really...excited. Which like, I get. [Even if he doesn't show it. He couldn't even summon a fraction of the excitement Papyrus has even on his best days.] Do you do bone stuff too? Like him? The bone attacks, I mean.
no subject
His camera is trained steadily on Nihlus now, as that is where Andrew's main focus is.]
What's life like on your planet? I mean, I know that's kind of a broad question but...just act like you're talking to a totally ignorant earthling.
[Get it because you are talking to a totally ignorant earthling.]
no subject
[He gestures the scales along his neck and the plates of his face.]
The humans who have gone to Palaven describe it as a silver planet and... they're not wrong.
[The first time he saw Palaven, it'd been... more beautiful than anything he'd ever seen. Gleaming, silver. Even from Menae and Nanus, it'd glowed.
It'd never felt like home though.]
The planet's been unified under one overarching international government known as the Hierarchy. As the name implies, it's a hierarchical meritocracy and quite military.
sorry for the delay, busy weekend!
[Without thinking much, Sans conjured a bone and flicked it towards Andrew. If it makes contact, it won't hurt much worse than an light tap. Needless to say, his magic doesn't appear to pack much of a punch.]
What can I say? It's what we know.
no subject
skelepun. It's still all surreal to him.The conjured bone gets his attention though he's not expecting it to be flicked towards him. Once its close enough it's stopped right before him. His camera is left to float off to the side as Andrew inspects the bone with his head tilted to the side. I mean, it's a bone. But it's a bone that a skeleton just conjured up out of nowhere so by extension it's fascinating - even if he saw Papyrus do it already.]
...That's amazing.
no subject
I dunno if I'd say amazing. If I was a skeleton that summoned hamburger magic, now that would be amazing. It gets the job done, though.
[Not that it scratched the surface of his powers, but that's for him to know and Andrew to underestimate.]
My bro's the amazing one. N' you too, if the synchronized swimming routine those dishes were doing is anything to go by.
