earthandpine: (thoughtful)

Rosethorn has some big problems with leaving the ground behind, right along with the plants, believe her. Sea journeys were bad enough, and at least then she knew the earth was waiting, however deep the water it was buried under. She's an Earth dedicate, in service of gods of the ground itself and everything that grows in it. Leaving the earth entirely is anything but her idea of a good plan.

The bees are one more familiar thing, as far as Rosethorn is concerned, another comforting piece of home in the middle of the completely foreign environment of the space ship.

She turns at the sound of footsteps, taking in what looks like at least trepidation, if not alarm. She doesn't, at least at first, make the connection of someone who's never seen bees before. Rosethorn has met plenty of people who are unreasonably nervous about getting stung. "Bees are harmless as long as you aren't foolish enough to swat at them or do anything to their hives. They only sting when threatened. And they're so good for the plants."
