"Tailgate?" Riptide responds worriedly. He hadn't bothered to go over from whatever he was doing, but the yelp definitely gets his attention. He clomps over, craning to see what was going on.

"You okay? Was it a bear trap? Please tell me you didn't just put your hand into a bear trap."

A pause, while he takes in the fact there's a chattering noise.
