this is one of the purest things i have ever read wth

(The funny thing was that Eddie wasn't expecting a single visitor. Not because he thought his friends didn't care, but he had gotten so used to his mom putting up a force field around him whenever he was sick or injured, that his loneliness was just apart of the experience. So when Rogue comes in?

Eddie damn near cries. He doesn't, of course! His eyes only get a teensy bit wet, but quick blinking does the job at getting rid of that. Eddie certainly does look awful, but his smile splits his face open with how wide and genuine it was.)

Hi! (He sounds as exhilarated as he felt.) It hasn't been too bad, I guess. (It's a bit of a simplification, but he's too glad to see her to want to sulk anymore than he already has. He's propped up against the fluffiest pillows that one Richie Tozier had hunted down for him, and there's plenty of room for Rogue due to his short legs. He has his own urge to hug her, not sure how else to express his immense gratitude at her appearance.

His eyes go to the flowers, and really, he almost feels stupid for not realizing sooner that they were for him. No one has ever brought him flowers before. It makes something fuzzy tingle at the back of his throat, and Eddie lets out a wheezing breath.)

Oh...Gosh. Thank you. (There it is again. Wet eyes. At least it's a good wet eyes. He smiles, holding his hands out so that he could take them from her.)

No one's ever gotten me flowers before. Wow. (Was this why girls loved this so much? It was- weirdly nice. Really nice, actually.)
