[She is more than willing to move on from where they are, and walks beside him down the path. Though there were no gardens so lavish as this on Themyscira, it still makes her recall the island. It would be almost too easy to lose herself in the scenery, to run off into the greenery and stay here forever. But that is just wishful thinking, and she forces her mind back to the present, here with Erik.

Her brows draw together at his words.]

What patterns? [If she can see them too, she thinks, perhaps they will be easier to interrupt. Though her people are all warriors, they all understand the need for peace. It is in their blood to yearn for it, to protect it. Diana is no exception.

She pauses beside some tall flowers, running her fingers gently along the petals. She wonders if the Kaittans have ever experienced war. From their choice in trade and interest in knowledge as currency, she highly doubts it.]

[Her hand drops away from the flowers, to the space her sword used to occupy. Though she's trained to wield all manner of weaponry, the blade has always been her preference. Without it, she feels unsettled.]

No war ends bloodlessly.

[Her voice is hushed, her words holding the same weight as her heart. Steve had known she could have survived the plane's explosion. She could have done it. He could have lived. Selfishly, she thinks that Ares could have waited one more day to die.

I can save today. You can save the world.]

But loss is the price we pay for peace.
