What: The last few rescues are straggling in. They're all safe now. Almost.
Warnings: probable discussion of the Platform plot and its difficult subjects



Waiting has never been Bel's strong point, especially during a crisis. The Dendarii fleet motto back home spells it right out -- 'daring rescues our specialty.' But blackouts, fugues, missing time, and unconscious prowls around the ship do not an infiltration specialist make, and Bel had -- reluctantly and with much pacing and frequent texts to those offboard -- remained on the Moira, where they'd found they weren't the only one haunted by the spectre in the Infinite Locked Rooms.

Alongside the rescue operation, it's been an aggravating inconvenience -- so far. If anyone's malaise lasted long enough to open that door.... Bel had even tried tying themself to their bunk at night. So far, nothing has worked.

Late in the month, Bel's sharp, tired face appears on the network, the ambiguous alto dryly ironic.

"It's a shame we can't smuggle the rest of the prisoners off the Platform. If they could be moved to safety, this might be a good place to drop off that troublesome locked-room passenger of ours." A grim smile. "And then sell tickets.

"I have a request for everyone who was trapped in that hellhole. The Runoff's new to us; our captains never intended to travel through here. We need fresh intelligence about what we might encounter. Anybody who was trapped there and might remember names, star systems, local news, local bad news -- if there's anything else around here.... If you overheard anything about what's around us, get in touch. It might tell us something useful."

Pausing, Bel swipes a lock of brown hair back from their face. The Platform's victims aren't all hardened soldiers -- not that it'll be easy for them either. But they have to ask. "I know it might be difficult for some. Talk to a counselor if you can't talk about it anywhere else. But if you can, I'd like to hear about it."
