We had an end goal, once upon a time, back when this thing was still in the air. We'd get to the Midway Hub - some fantastic golden land of bountiful technology or whatever - where the creators of the Ingress would fix their broken shit and send us home.

Only, naturally, we couldn't actually get to the Midway Hub because we couldn't use the Ingress to teleport the ship like it was designed to. So we hurtled slowly and uselessly through space for a while before figuring out how to restore the Ingress to full power and launch us at our destination.
