[OPEN] toys r us? no,

Who: The Big Sister and you!
When: July 22nd
Where: A marketplace in R1
What: The Big Sister goes shopping for the first time, makes local toy vendor and passengers on public transport very nervous.
Warnings: None for now

At R1 marketplace, afternoon
For the first few months she was on Thisavrou, the Big Sister had avoided commerce. Numbers were complicated and communication even moreso. With her basic needs taken care of for free, additional products had just seemed like a needless luxury. After studying with Nyx, however, the process at least seems more doable. She can make herself understood with the cards he had given her and she’d be lying if she said there isn’t anything she wants to buy.

Such as one of the colorful dolls on display in front of her. It’s a new vendor’s stand in the R1 marketplace, specializing in toys she actually recognizes for once. Toy soldiers, train sets, music boxes, and of course, dolls. She’s too old for such amusements, of course. But her sisters back in Rapture are not and they’ve had to make do with old, cobbled together toys for too long. The Big Sister feels an anticipatory shiver of happiness imagining their joy at such sparkling new amusements—and just as quickly feels a flash of frustration at being separated from them for so long. She should be back in Rapture, protecting them.

She can’t go back, not yet. But in the meantime, she can at least prepare for when she can. Which is why you might find her in the marketplace, appraising a few dolls under the wary eye of the vendor. She definitely doesn’t look like an average customer, standing at almost seven feet tall and wearing what looks like scavenged armor on top of a twill diving suit. She seems to be choosing between a doll in a remarkably detailed ballgown and another in plainer clothes. Maybe you should offer your opinion?

On public transportation, evening
Or maybe you happen to spot her on the metro a while later. She’s on her way back to the main transport depot so she can return to her home in Region 4. Other passengers are giving her a wide berth. It’s not hard to see why. If her intimidating height and armor weren’t enough, there’s also the fact that she’s carrying several bags full of what look like vintage dolls. There’s also the fact that she glares and sometimes even growls at people who get too close.

Maybe you’re curious about your strange fellow passenger. Or maybe all the other seats are taken. Either way, it’s probably a good idea to approach with caution.

It's the dolls that catch his attention, at first. In and of themselves they're already sticking out in the crowd - porcelain dolls have an almost anachronistic look against the backdrop of scifi bullshit present here. That an incredibly tall person with uncannily soft features adds to the freaky deaky atmosphere.

Tetora is completely fascinated.

"Hey, lady," he shouts out, cupping a hand loosely around his mouth. "What are the dolls for?"

It had been crazy couple of weeks. While fighting and running were nothing new to Michiko as her whole life has always been filled with violence and crime she still had to admit that so far there hasn't been anything like the black eyed freaks that were running around not too long time ago. Of course, she knew how to take care of herself and stay unhurt but they had taken the main focus from her. But now that mess seems to be solves, Michiko can direct her attention to more dire and important matters: her search. She was still apart from Hatchin and Hiroshi.

She's parked her bike somewhere nearby and she's currently going through the marketplace with a piece of paper in her hand, asking people passing if they had seen the people drawn on the paper and for other possible information about the world. Unsurprisingly, the Savrii don't pay much to her which only manages to bring her mood down. It feels like an eternity since the last time she had smiled.

"Hey, hey!" She keeps calling for people and pushes the paper on faces of passerby's. It's enough to distract her so that she doesn't notice the small frilly dressed doll on the ground and steps on it.
