"Funny how you managed to open up to me too soon, huh?" He jokes dryly. Kaz's true self isn't that different. Or at least, it wasn't that different. He needed an apology and an explanation to attempt peace again.
"Come on. Let's get out of the way so we can think of something."
He pulls her hand and takes her off to the side, around an old building (it looks like it was probably once some sort of bakery but has long since closed), crouches, and starts picking open a padlock locked back door.
It doesn't take him long; he probably could be a thief at the rate he handles that. He opens up the door and lets her dust kicking up off of plastic tubs and various boxes of items that were left behind by the former owners. Once they're in, he pins the door with a few of those boxes. He knows Mei probably wants to get out there and stop that thing, but he's pretty sure she should come up with a battle strategy first.
