pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name [outside the ingress, open to new arrivals]
[So. You’ve just stumbled out of an impossible portal onto an impossible ship. Hate to say it, but things aren’t getting any less impossible from here on out.

You may briefly feels eyes on you as you adjust to your new surroundings, but as far as you can tell, you’re alone. It’s not until you begin to walk out of that softly glowing room that a figure appears in the doorway.

If you’re a human, she’ll be human. If you’re something else, she’ll be that same something else, or at least an approximation of it. Pointed ears, horns, brightly-colored skin, etc will all be mimicked in order to best appear as another member of your species. If you’re something more difficult to imitate, such as, say, a giant robot, well… She’s just going to appear human. Sorry, but she wouldn’t be able to pull off a shift like that if she wanted to, and she definitely doesn’t.

Whatever form she’s taking, the illusion of familiarity is likely shattered by the very unfamiliar uniform she’s wearing, black with teal trim. Not to mention the two black tubes sticking out of what seems to be a pocket sewn to the front of her uniform that hook up to a oval-shaped metal piece at her middle. At least she seems friendly, smiling at you and giving you a somewhat appraising look as you approach.]

Hey. I guess this is the part where I say, "Welcome to the Moira."

but what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game [decoy, ota]
[The place is swarming with guards, which isn't too surprising given the nature of what it holds. They're on high-alert, patrolling the grounds with almost fever-pitch urgency. One of the guards in particular seems to be calling the shots, ordering men about with stern commands.]

I need at least three squads covering sector five, I repeat, three squads covering sector five! Beta team reporting a breach at their location -- don’t just stand around! Go!

[Maybe he sees you at some point. But instead of raising his weapon or calling for reinforcements, he just winks and turns back to the other guards, continuing to bark orders at them. They scramble to follow his orders and since he doesn't acknowledge you, neither do they. But if you pay attention, you’ll notice that there doesn’t really seem to be a method to the madness. He’s just sending guards away and in every which direction at that. In mere minutes, the place is clear of them. Once they're out of sight, he turns back to you with a grin.]

You know, I almost can't believe that worked. Almost.
