"There will be no prison which can hold our movement down."

The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and nothing is familiar.

Yet, unlike most new crew arrivals, this one is in the middle of chaos.

Despite more recent events, the planet of Emiri is not as peaceful as it once was. Frederick Link is still missing, and the authorities of Emiri have yet to lift the interplanetary ban they have placed on all space crafts docked at the aerospace. The captains previous held a meeting asking crew for any and all information that might help them locate the Komai, a mysterious group determined to undermine Link'd Inc's work providing flourishing matches across the universe by causing random acts of violence and protest across the three main cities: Harashan, Avelle, and St. Murtel. These things have led to mass arrests as well as an unsettling atmosphere spreading across the planet, and since a previous broadcast, things are beginning to escalate.

A downward spiral of these events begins as soon as new arrivals start to leave the Ingress—an unmarked box arrives in the cargo bay addressed to the inhabitants of the Moira. As per his job, Niko Bellic is the one to discover this box and open it. For some, the contents may be particularly gruesome. Link’s body is inside, clothed in a simple white button-down and pants (no shoes), and it looks as if letters have begun to bleed through the material. Anyone with expert knowledge of torture may note that Link was, in fact, tortured for information, and those letters? The writing itself spells out the name St. Murtel.

The captains, having been alerted of this, make an attempt to contact those at Link’d Inc. Unfortunately, the damage has already been done.

☄ First: MISCOMMUNICATION
Somehow, whether intentional or not, the Komai have once again hacked public systems and networks to brand those of the Moira as the ones behind these terroristic acts. They still use their own name, but the images are different, focusing on familiar faces wearing the ship’s uniforms and traveling to the Aerospace to return to the Moira. Not only that, there are short recordings of Link’s final words that mention a very recognizable name: Captain Thán. The Komai have redirected the blame to the Moira and its crew for their own means, and in response, any and all crew who are captured by authorities will immediately be detained and shipped out to unknown locations. The Captains send a message via MID and request everyone return to the ship to prevent this from happening. Yet, not all messages will be delivered depending on how far away they are.

With everyone’s safety hanging in the balance, the Captains have decided to take things into their own hands and find a way to lift the block on the Moira so they can leave Emiri’s orbit and avoid further repercussions regardless of whether or not any one of the crew wants to stay.

☄ Second: DECOY & DISTRACT
After learning that Benjamin Link, son of recently deceased Frederick Link, knows how to unlock the ship so they can leave, the captains ask for volunteers to act as decoys on a mission to the Aerospace in Harashan. Their job is to distract guards and Emiri citizens, leaving the path clear for Benjamin to get to the computers. The captains reiterate that they are to use nonfatal methods as they don’t want a repeat of the events on Caducus Primary. Without his help, the ship won’t be able to leave, making this mission critical and extremely time sensitive.

☄ Third: RESCUE
During the mission, Benjamin informs the crew that the Komai aren’t incorrect in their claims that Link’d Inc uses unforgivable means to obtain information in order to make their matches perfect. The children the crew dreamed about are just two of many—the offspring of Emirian citizens who had gone missing. It has long been suspected that Link’d Inc was involved in their disappearances, but only recently has the Komai done anything to shed light on these gruesome rumors. Benjamin, after successfully unlocking the ship, disables the security systems in St. Murtel, which will allow the children a chance to escape. They’ll need assistance in getting out of St. Murtel and to a pre-designated area in Avelle where a group of Komai and Emirians will be waiting for them.

But be careful. If anyone is recognized as part of the crew, they will be placed under arrest for treason and possibly never heard from again.

☄ Fourth: BREAKING OUT
Now that the computer systems in Harashan’s Aerospace have been used to release the Moira, the entire crew are being called back via MID for an expedient exit from Emiri. Crew will be asked to assist other Moirans in getting back to the ship as quickly as possible via transporters or other small crafts as leaving is their only option at this point. In the escape, Emiri launches an attack on the Moira in an attempt to stop them. The ship’s previously unused defense systems activate, and those assigned to those positions are required to man their posts. Perhaps even those who don’t have the clearance are needed. Either way, it’s time to leave.

☄ Fifth: REFUGEES
Now that the ship has finally escaped Emiri’s orbit, the crew will notice a group of stragglers in the main hall. During the crew’s quick exit, about fifty Emirians have taken refuge aboard the Moira, and the captains have agreed to take them to the closest planet so they may start again or live a life free of Link’d Inc “rule”. The captains ask the crew to help get them clothes and food for their short stay, no longer than a day at most, and to occupy them as best they can. Tell jokes, sing songs, bring up the kittens so that everyone can attempt to wind down after this series of unfortunate events. Light entertainment won’t be provided, but on request, some crew members may do just that.

[He lets out a small chuckle at the sudden change of subject, but he's not objecting.] Well, let's see... There's a rec room, but it's mostly exercise equipment, with a heated pool and some UV beds. There's also the library, like I told you, plus a garden, and the MIDs [He raises the hand his is at and taps his wrist.] have a couple of games in it. But as far as stuff in the ship goes, that's more or less it. The better entertainment tends to come from what's on the planets we stop by.

[ The reaction has Bruce drawing away immediately, lifting his hands up even though he hadn't even tried to reach out or touch the guy. He winces a little as the trolley nearly falls over, smiling a little and letting out a silent sigh as the minor accident is thankfully averted. ]

Don't worry, I wasn't going to force you out of it or anything.

[ Even if walking around while wearing a massive armor makes things a little difficult, especially right now. At least things have calmed down a bit now, so Bruce says nothing to that. ]

Sure. Things are pretty calm right now, but we should look over some of the wounded. [ He gestures at the exam tables taken up by some of the more seriously injured. ] There's also a group of kids waiting to be taken back to the mess hall, you can help me with that afterwards?

It's not so much the children as the adults. [The final words are slightly strained as Varric flexes his neck, cricking it and working out the muscles.] Specifically the one adult who just hurled me to the ground.

[Isn't that cute? He cares what you think of him. Or...something like that, anyway.

As much as Varric suspects the sheepish apology in his bearing is a little affected, at least he's bothering to do so at all. He's quite good at finding the silver lining in this cloud of humiliation.]

No, I think a favour suits me just fine. I'm not accepting food offers at the moment. [He pats his stomach.] On a diet. Besides, food's free around here, that doesn't count.

[Since they're doing belated niceties, this is the point where Varric sketches a shallow bow.] Tethras. Varric Tethras, and the pleasure's all mine. The pleasure and the backache.

[Then he grins.] I have to say, all the dragons I've seen in my time looked like they'd be right sight harder to flip than a dwarf. Colour me impressed.

So I've learned since coming here. [ It just wasn't a concept he was ever familiar with before, even if he believed that any kind of magic would follow its own set of laws, even work in accordance to their unique kind of physics. It was impossible for him to not want to know more about those methods and rules, even if he might never be able to work with them himself.

Arching an eyebrow at the last remark, he tipped his head, lifting a shoulder in a half-shrug. ]
I think we're all flukes. [ After all, even among the seemingly plain humans, there was a good number of them that were anything but normal. Himself included. And so far it didn't really look like there was any method or logic as to who was brought here, or why. ]

And you seem pretty friendly yourself. [ He noted, though the way Sans said it, Bruce was imagining a much more excitable and extroverted, as well as taller, skeleton. Indeed, couldn't possibly miss someone like that. ] What's his name?

[He smirks at Oren while he things it over. True, what time is a good question to ask.] Let's make it easy and say right after dinner. Or as soon as the bartender's back, anyway. Does that work for you?

She doesn't really know about that—she's certainly never spent time around kids before this. Participating in Project Freelancer didn't really allow for ordinary things like that. Tex looks at the kids and shrugs.

"It's just a matter of treating them like people, I think. Or even more like people than you might treat an adult, in some cases."

[ Well, at least he didn't bring all the ants in here with him. Did he? Please don't say you have all two hundred ants hiding in your trousers, Scott. ]

Should be that. I can't say I have a lot of experience with insects, though, so we'll just have to wait and see.

[ Honestly if he were to guess, he'd have said that the ants wouldn't have even survived the Ingress. He's kind of going in blind on this.

Bruce looks up when Scott stops halfway through what he was saying, looking a little surprised when he recognizes him. He doesn't have time to worry that the guy was told about him after arriving on the ship, thankfully, and with what he mentions next, Bruce smiles a little when he realizes he knows him from his work. ]

That's me, yes. I take it we must be from the same world, then. [ Or similar enough, at least. ]
hyperkinesia: (He's going to evolve.)

[ He continues with his work, his hands moving at a calm and steady pace, the stitches spaced neat and evenly. One hand keeps her shoulder in place, making sure she doesn't move too much and that every time, the needle pierces the skin at just the right spot and angle. ]

You're not the only one. I think anyone who's been here long enough worries. A lot about this ship is... a mystery. And trust me, some of us have really looked. [ They could always look through some of the other ILR's, but honestly, after seeing what they kept in just one of them... Bruce isn't so sure it's a good idea poking around at random. ]

You're one of the new arrivals, aren't you?

[ Bruce is relieved that he doesn't have to ask again, and that at least for now, he's managed to get Steve to sit down, instead of running around trying to do more when he really should be worrying about himself right now. It's not as if there's more he can do now anyway, there's no fight or pressing danger he needs to take care of, and making sure his recovery is quick and easy is the best way he can make himself useful again. ]

We will. We'll figure something out. [ He doesn't even know if he believes that himself, honestly. But if that's the way to get Steve's mind to not go a thousand miles an hour and stop for long enough for Bruce to look him over, then so be it.

His eyes still scan Steve's torso, eyebrows knit as he notes the injuries and the bruises, gaze flicking upwards to look at his shoulder, and the two gunshot wounds there. His eyes widen a little, and he looks at Steve's face, his eyebrows raising with an air of sarcasm to it, looking frankly unimpressed at the last remark. ]
Really? Well, that's such a relief.

[ Bruce almost feels a taste of that blood himself, or maybe it's just the hint of bile when he sees the damage Steve took. Sighing, he starts feeling around the shoulder, checking first to see if there are any broken bones. He doubts it, but better safe than sorry. ] I take it you still have the bullets in there?
hyperkinesia: (And you do?)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-08 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright. [ And with a nod, he starts taking care of the simpler injuries with the medi-gel, doing quick work of a good number of them. The gel has amazing properties, and he can't help but marvel at how quickly it closes up the wounds, though he also doesn't spend too long inspecting its effects, not right now when they're so busy.

Once he's taken care of a good chunk of the people waiting, he makes his way over to Meh again, making sure she's not too busy herself either. ]

So, what did you want to ask?
hyperkinesia: (How's he doing?)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-08 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He nods, listening to Eggsy's quick rundown, scanning the rest of his body for any other injuries. Even small wounds he can take care of, by simply making use of the handy medi-gel they keep around here. ]

Did you? [ He can't help but chuckle a little at that. The plan was to set up distractions, after all, and some classic riot moves seems like a pretty way to go about that. Even if, Bruce imagines, it earned them a lot of negative reactions from the native authorities. ] And how did that work out? I hope no one got hurt.

[ From the planet, that is. At least, that was an important part of the plan. ]
hyperkinesia: (You brought me to the edge of the city.)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-08 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Bruce reaches out and takes the hand before he even introduces himself. When he hears that name, though, he tenses a little, shoulders squaring just so as his fingers wrap a hint tighter around his hand, then he lets go quickly. ]

Maximoff? [ His jaw shifts, loosening and then clenching again. He swallows dryly. ] Any relation to Wanda Maximoff?
takeitslow: ([Teenage])

[personal profile] takeitslow 2016-02-08 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Peter's lips twitch, a half second frown as he pulls his hand back and flexes his fingers.]

Yeah, yeah. Sister. Twins, or we're supposed to be. This place plays it kind of freaky with the time and universe stuff, you know? Like, I'm supposed to be the older one? But now she's older and it's kind of not on.
hyperkinesia: (Thanks for asking nicely.)

[personal profile] hyperkinesia 2016-02-08 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You and me both. [ He pauses for a moment, thinking of what to say next - or how to say it. ] I'm sorry if I scared you, down on the planet. I'd have warned you, but... [ Well, they were a bit pressed for time. ]

I promise I don't usually go around turning big and green.
seeingscarlet: (happy; 065)

[personal profile] seeingscarlet 2016-02-08 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
River is...like me. [River's demons are her own to reveal, but Wanda's pretty sure it won't take Peter long to understand why she feels so protective of her. In the end, she had a choice. River was hurt and badly.] You will understand when you meet her.

[She follows along, probes the surface of those memories. Her expression goes soft - yes, she would like them. Very much. Might need to put her makeup on a higher shelf, though.]

Family is family. I would love to meet them if there is a safe way. Maybe if they ever fix the Ingress.

I think Billy is from another version of our world. We are the same age here, so it's easier to act like I have another brother.

[Two younger brothers, both somewhere on the reckless side. They're going to be the death of her.]
takeitslow: ([Smug])

[personal profile] takeitslow 2016-02-08 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought people liked smiling. Supposed to make you look all nice and approachable.

[He stretches out his smile wider, baring teeth before laughing.]

Yeah, why not? Not sure how much I'd like being calling goddess of war, but I can make it work.
takeitslow: ([Chatter])

[personal profile] takeitslow 2016-02-08 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh. Right? I'd look so cool on a bike. Moms, though.

[Peter watches Niko look around, waits until his attention is mostly focused back in his direction and raises his eyebrows to silently ask what he's looking for.]
allyisun: (lie down and cry)

[personal profile] allyisun 2016-02-08 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Allison sniffles again, but gives Maya her best grateful smile, awkward but genuine. It's actually really nice to get that all out to someone. Her friends had tried to comfort her during her brief stop at home, but they had no idea what was going on with her and she hadn't been about to tell them.

"I don't think anybody who's stuck on this chunk of metal hurtling through space is having an especially good day." She gives a little unhappy laugh, then curls her arms around her knees. "Sorry for spilling all that on you."

[When the ants are sufficiently marching away from the giant metal guy, Scott drops his hand, and grins.]

It's an EMP device. It helps me communicate with them.

[He carefully steps forward, shrugging sheepishly.]

I forgot to mention I've got ants with me before, but now you know.

My bad, I shouldn't have assumed anything.

[Scott looks truly apologetic, frowning a moment in Ed's direction.]

We're not. Okay, so. Let's back track a hundred steps and do this right.

[He sticks out a hand again, returning Ed's grin.]

I'm Scott and I'm an old man and you look young, but that doesn't mean anything. My bones are brittle because I'm close to a thousand, and does this food get any better?

[personal profile] getweird 2016-02-08 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Brainstorm? That's a wicked name.

[He glances down at the ants, waving his hand in a wide arch.]

I tried, but there's hundreds of them. I haven't named them all yet.

[Scott bends down and lets the two ants closest to Riptide's holoform climb into his palm.]

These guys seem to like you. What do you wanna call them?
getweird: (77)

[personal profile] getweird 2016-02-08 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[The ants take their time, of course they do, they only hurry up if Scott's in a rush and he isn't right now. Stupid mind controlly stuff.]

More like I'm just asking them to move. If you get too bossy with them, they'll ignore you.

[A pause.]

How'd you know I was, man? Um, woman. Anyways, the ear thing right? It gave it away.

It wasn't the ship, it was the people on the planet. The people that have spoken to me about it didn't seem too happy with it all.

[Danny shrugs a shoulder, picking up the glass. He tosses it back again, but doesn't push it closer.]

David thinks it's a joke. I think it's about money. There's money in all of this.
