"Oh." There was no reason it should catch her off guard, but still it did. Shocking what the reminder that one was cared for could do to a person. Lara grinned despite herself. "I'd say I feel the same, but I suppose you're not the trouble hunting sort."

She pushed herself up on her feet, fought down her body's impulse to stumble and dusted herself off. "I promise I'll be as careful and safe as I can be."

Which in retrospect, wasn't much of a promise, but then Lara didn't have the clearest idea anymore of what careful or safe were.
