[ The shift and change of the metal in her hand is distracting, but not totally unnerving: it isn't the strangest thing she's encountered and used in other worlds, after all. Katsa spares a brief moment to miss the feeling of the shard in her chest and fire blooming at her fingertips before the fight in front of her returns her to where she is now, what she's doing here.

Which is the light that blocks her blow, something hard and unmovable that jars the bones in her hand when she strikes it and calls all her attention to it. Katsa isn't so taken aback by it that she forgets herself in a fight, and she instantly takes a few steps back so that she might dodge any retaliatory blows and take in this new addition to the fight. But it's surprising and unfamiliar, and she has no idea what it's capable of doing except blocking all her attacks.

The alien weapon in her hand is changing again, and Katsa finds it's turned into a small dagger, one that fits perfectly in her palm, as she keeps an eye on the purple light on Shiro's hand.

Yes, she thinks, she must separate that from him, too. And she has an idea of how to solve both her problems. She'll ask him about the purple light later, when they're finished. She continues feinting, moving in to strike before pulling back, testing and almost taunting with her speed. ]
