keep the streets empty for me.
Who: Bucky Barnes, Andyr Prince
When: Early March
Where: Andyr's Farmhouse
What: Someone has some catching up to do.
Warnings: None.
[ Bucky's spent a large chunk of the time in self-imposed exile ever since he landed in this world, forging out a life for himself. It gets easier, sometimes; the bad days are still just as bad, and Bucky's sure he will never be able to put any distance from him and the things he's done even though he's practically galaxies away.
It doesn't matter. He does the best he can with what he has; that's all there is to it.
This morning, he turns up at where he knows Andyr is putting up -- just because he'd kept himself away doesn't mean he isn't apprised of his friends' (funny, that, he has friends now) situations. It's a lovely place, large and sprawling, admittedly surreal, and he tracks along the perimeter for awhile before coming up to what looks like the main door. He knocks, feeling only slightly stupid.
Maybe he should have sent him a text before he came down. ]

the door swings open not even a second after the knock, andyr having made his way down when he saw bucky circling around to the front. there's a toothy grin on his lips, and andyr lurches forward a step, arms going around bucky's sides to tug him into a tight hug. he'd missed him, okay? being in a place that finally feels like a home is great and all, but not every person he cares for is here with him. bucky's still a vital part of his life, in this universe.
and, yeah, he's gotten a little more free with the affectionate contact since being soaked in it between ronan and adam. andyr doesn't linger terribly long after giving bucky a good squeeze, pulling back to push the door open and wave him in. ]
Perimeter all secure? Didn't find any lurking bad guys?

He's changed, and for the better. As for Bucky -- well, things are still largely the same, aside from the fact that he's made it more of a habit to easily withdraw, keeping to himself. Good things don't last long, and he has to be ready to escape and disappear at a moment's notice if he can. ]
Aside from the one that's hugging me now? [ He says dryly, amusement threaded in his words. ] Who are your friends?

he tugs at him, dragging bucky into the house, as he starts to babble out his answer for 'who are your friends', because there's a lot of them here. he wouldn't really call all of them friends, really, only about three maybe, but he details the residents anyway. ]
Ronan made the whole... everything. It's a magic thing. And Adam's his boyfriend. [ and Andyr is both of their boyfriends, but he's sort of been on the down-low about that, because it's still odd to think about, and odder to explain. ] There's Noah too, he's a ghost. And there's Blue, who's a weird girl, and Gansey, who wears glasses and talks like he's rich. There's Jesse, and he's sometimes a drug addict, but he's a good guy. Ellie too, she's a kid who came from a shitty place.
[ thus, they bonded over that. andyr thinks bucky ought to meet her. his presence always makes andyr feel a kind of safety and deep calm, maybe he can do the same for her. ]
I have a fish pond. Wanna see?

[ Andyr is happier than he's ever seen him, and he talks about the people he lives with (seriously, one of them is a ghost?) like they're family -- and it's about time, isn't it? The person that Andyr is now is a far cry from the person he'd first met, and he can't help but smile briefly as he stays close, following after him.
He won't stop being protective over this one, he supposes, even if Andyr's making a good life for himself here all on his own with a support system at hand. Bucky won't allow himself that luxury -- he can't. There are people who want him dead, people who've wanted to use him who were here before, and Bucky has to be ready to bolt at a moment's notice, to disappear into the trenches of this new, unknown world without worrying other people, and if Andyr has good friends here, the younger man would miss his inevitable absence a lot less.
Really, a win for everyone.
Until then, Bucky will do the best he can for Andyr. ]
Did you keep Andy? He still shy?

should bucky ever disappear without notice, doubtlessly, andyr would follow after him. he's as irreplaceable as anyone else. even with as far as he's come now, he's still a delicate, precarious thing. the slightest push, even here, sends him spiraling, and even as beaming as he is now, he'll still be off to cage matches some night or so later, trying to purge the volatility in his blood, so it doesn't soak in here.
none of that shows now, not with bucky here, and andyr flashes him another toothy smile, pulling at him to drag him through the house, through the kitchen and the various, nonsensical dream rooms, towards his own bedroom. ]
Of course I did. I'll show you. [ it may take a while to get to his room, where the tank with Andy is, but it's the first thing andyr wants to share with bucky. ] He's still a little shy, but he has friends now.
