"Let them in, and take them out."

So I figured, 'Man, you know who could use this? That Princess with her pet mice. Maybe if she has it, she won't bother me!'
Looks like I was half right.

But hey, let's do the right thing and avoid the subject.]
Considering we're all starting over from scratch? We could all use every friend we could get.
no subject
Are we though? I mean, you've got Shiro and Pidge. I'm sure the rest of your paladins will show up in due time.
no subject
Shiro and Pidge showed up at the same time I did. We still don't know what's become of Lance, Hunk and Keith...
And the last time the Lions were lost, it took 10,000 years for them to resurface.
no subject
That's the point. If you allow yourself to give in to notions like 'they'll never show up' or 'we'll never win' then that's exactly what's going to happen.
Don't you think the reverse should prove true too?
no subject
And what sort of argument is that, anyway? I should leave you alone and sit around waiting for the rest of the paladins to return, instead?
no subject
So, either you've got an entire army stashed under your royal gown, or there's something more to your group of paladins. I'm assuming it has something to do with those robot lions, but that's frankly none of my business.
And the argument, my dear Princess, is that you shouldn't say something stupid like 'starting from scratch.' At least you've got people to wait for.
The only person I know who could show up here is literally the last person I'd want to show up here.

[She takes a seat right outside the broken door.]
Don't misunderstand me. Shiro and Pidge are vital and essential to our team. But if this fight has taught me anything, it's that every alliance is valuable. Every friendship is valuable.
... [So, speaking of, let's get diplomatic.] If it's an old enemy you're expecting, perhaps we can help you.
no subject
Don't need it. Don't want it.
And the last thing you all need is to get involved.
no subject
The paladins of Voltron are heroes. Getting involved is basically their job.

Imagine a city. Imagine one of the prettiest cities you possibly can.
Now imagine a seemingly ordinary man walking into the center of that city, waving his hand, and in a flash, every building, every life, is torn down, ripped asunder, and laid to waste. No technology, no weapons. Just the will and the power to make it happen.
Then imagine that man taking the corpses of the poor people of that city; the men, the women, the children, and fashioning their bones into a tower. Not to watch over his domain. Not to bask in the glory of his own power.
To prove a point.
Princess, I understand that you mean well, but no magic robot lion is going to handle being stripped bare by a pure force of destruction.
And I sure as hell don't want to see my best friend anywhere near that demon.
no subject
[She says as if that is a totally normal thing to have in the sci-fi genre.]
Wait, now hold on. Your best friend?
no subject
It's like he just cancelled everything out. Tore it apart at a base level. Whatever magic that was, no one's ever seen or heard of it before.
[He pauses.]
...Shiro.
no subject
[She stands up again, but still leans on the door.]
Well, now we have to be friends. Otherwise, it's going to get awkward.
no subject
And no, we really don't. Believe me when I say it's not even going to be a problem for me to ignore you exist.
Except for right now where you have me locked in a room because you have this incessant need to talk to me.
I never should have given you that flask.
no subject
[At least she's honest!]
So, when you somehow find another way out of the room -- which I'm going to go ahead and guess will involve breaking some other things in the process -- just why do you think it's going to be that easy to ignore me, even when you're forging friendships with all of my present Paladins?
no subject
In fact?
I'm willing to bet anything that I can antagonize you more than you can antagonize me.
no subject
[Let the games begin.]

That's all?
Cool.
[Darin turns away from the door, takes two steps to his right, casually lifts his arm, then punches forward...]
[Effectively exploding the entirety of the wall adjacent to the door.]
[Which Darin calmly walks through, hands shoved in his pockets.]
See ya.
no subject
[After a moment...]
Do you know how to do things besides break everything?!
