[Science class out in the desert was more about what was edible and dowsing rather than any biology lessons.]
Still pretty cool I guess. But the whole poofin' thing was better. I bet you never get caught in a chase. That's real useful.
no subject
[Kurt's still learning a lot about biology, too, now that he's actually in a school and all.]
Maybe I could bring you along for a ride sometime. In all actuality, that is what I use my ability for most of the time. That, and rescuing others from harm.
no subject
Like, make me do that? [She's uncomfortable with the idea and it shows on her face. She thinks it would remind her of Sans and his powers, and she's not prepared to let herself think about that. Besides, his powers had always scared her.] Don't think I'd much like that.
no subject
[A quick nod of the head, but he instantly sees the discomfort on her face and withdraws the idea.] That is okay. I was only offering to curb any sort of curiosity you might have about it. You do not have to try, if you do not want to.
no subject
I don't. [She's not trying to be mean, but the words are blunt. Sans had terrified her with his powers, even if it had been necessary to save her life. In fact, that it had been to save her only made her more reluctant to experience teleportation again. She didn't know how to deal with her feelings about the man who she both hated and owed her very breath to.] Fine enough just to see you doin' it.
no subject
[He isn't exactly offended or anything, but he is surprised; most people are super excited to try it out when given the chance. Kurt shrugs and offers a small grin, tucking both of his arms behind his back to lace his fingers together at the base of his tail.] Would you like for me to show you something else?
no subject
[She narrows her eyes at him, considering. After a moment she nods.] 'kay. Go ahead.
no subject
[Once he's given the go ahead, he returns the nod and strides his way over to the nearest wall. His head tips back, taking in the length of the barrier before he reaches to plant both of his hands on it and pulls himself up a bit. Now that he can also use his feet, he does exactly that and begins to scale the wall with ease.]
no subject
[She watches him with her head cocked to the side, half expecting explosions and destruction. It wouldn't feel out of place when the sort of things she's seen from other shipmates. But this is just as entertaining and far less terrifying.]
Oh that's just milkshake! Like a roach runnin' up a wall. How ya doin' that?
no subject
[The frown gives way to a bright smile at her use of words; if he thinks less literally about it, maybe it's more understandable. Milkshakes are cold, so ... is she saying it's cool? He'll save the question for later, though.
One of his hands reaches out, fingers stretching then curling into his palm.] Micro-suction discs on my hands and feet.
no subject
[She leans forward, just a little, squinting at his hands.]
Mmm. Weird. But I bet it makes gettin' around a lot easier. Don't even have to use stairs.
no subject
[He stands completely still, aside from the faint twitch of his tail. Kurt doesn't want to frighten her or anything.]
Mutation, [he returns with a shrug,] weird is just everyday to us. It certainly helps in a fight, but I prefer taking the stairs.
no subject
[She's surprised he's actually agreeing to it. Most people brush off her strange way of speaking and just ask her to clarify as needed.]
Really? [She catches herself, tries to cover up looked shocked.] I mean. I guess I could teach you. But it'd be hard, probably. And we'd have to make a trade. You teach me somethin' and all.
And weird's somethin' a carbon a dozen 'round here too. Still makes it weird. Doesn't always have to mean bad.
no subject
[If there's one thing Kurt understands, it's speaking differently; he's not speaking in ... well, he isn't sure what 'Zone' talk qualifies as. 'Slang' doesn't seem to be the right term, but that's what comes to mind.]
Really, [repeats the blue boy, withdrawing his hands to tuck them behind his back.] I'd have no problem teaching you something in return, either. It would depend on what you want to learn.
I've never categorized 'weird' as 'bad' or anything. It's nice to be different.
no subject
[Even if it's still a little sad. Maybe she was spoiled, getting four parents and Cherri all ready to fawn over her.]
Hmm. I dunno. 'm guessin' you can't teach me that climbin' trick, yeah?
Yeah? Heh. Sounds like somethin' the boys back home would say. Good on ya. Always better to stick out from the crowd. Normal's borin' as hell.
no subject
[He thinks about the nickname his adoptive mother has called him, a slow smile spreading across his face, regardless of the almost painful twinge at the thought. One day, perhaps they would be reunited again.]
Oh, I would if I could, but ... without the micro-disc adaptation, it would do you no gut.
Friends of yours back home, you mean? You can say that again. I've never had to worry about not sticking out in a crowd, being blue and all.
no subject
[Not that she doesn't have her own abilities to show off, but they scare her. Other people's seem so much better in that regard.]
Yeah, my boys. My crew. [She smiles slightly.] It's pretty cool. You'd almost fit in back home. We got a lotta folks runnin' about in fur suits.
no subject
[He isn't sure why he's apologizing, but it seems sort of like the right thing to do. Had Kurt known that she had abilities of her own, he might inquire about them, though he'd have to figure out a way to do so that wouldn't be rude.]
You have a crew? [Cue the peak in curiosity.] Fur suits, [he repeats the word, wrinkling his nose and glancing down at himself,] do the suits look anything like me?
