[ The hum his answer gets is a little dubious, a little pleased, and plenty amused, if dulled by the situation they're in. Leave it to her to try and inject a little good humor into their surroundings. The gentlest lightening of the atmosphere.

It may have had more punch if she wasn't settling in to rifle through a corpse's clothing for personal effects or weaponry.

Her question was idle curiosity at best, but there's no denying the visor (and his gun, for that matter) were Overwatch technology, even if they'd never followed through on development. She'd remembered most of the squandered projects like that visor, and there couldn't be but a handful of prototypes left. ]

I'm aware. I remember the project; you were lucky to get ahold of one. I just wasn't sure which version you had, is all. Some had been used for macular degeneration or other retinal damage. If that had been the case and anything were faulty, I would have liked to offer assistance with it.

[ But her suspicions on SEP involvement (and otherwise) aren't to be argued with by this point. It's a narrow pool and as far as she could tell, he sported no cybernetic augmentations. She had an ear (and eye) for them and likely would've heard metal joints or the quiet thrum of a power source, the occasional venting or grind or click— no, his work was naturally done. If not genetically altered, then neurologically tampered, removing the body's natural limiters and training himself up beyond what most were capable of. The details were largely redacted but it had been one or the other. Not that she'd had many occasions to observe his feats.

Perhaps she had been seeking a sliver of information, but mostly, she is just making conversation. ]

But I'm glad that isn't the case. [ Another beat, and then: ] What do you think we'll be facing ahead, 76? This was to be our way home, and yet...

[ What surrounds them implies quite the opposite. ]
