The Gods of my realm have always allowed the creatures that lived in the land to choose as they pleased. Their responsibilities in the war between Her Grace and the Demon God has always been one that they voluntary took. The passive nature of the Celestials and Archfiends of your realm takes the appearance of great inefficiency.
Nonetheless, there may be a reason for that decision, one that neither of us are privy to.

The Demon God was sealed away and saw his powers diminished for it. [she floats forward abruptly, ignoring Darin's personal space, likely because she has no sense of personal space of her own] Any power split in two is half as strong as it would be whole. I do not know the reasoning for the Archfiend to split his power between two souls but it appears that events did not transpire the way that he wished them to. There is a purpose for all things, even if one never comes to realize it.
