Actually, there's a really long story behind his 'mutation' - one that even he has no knowledge of. Until this is explained to him, he's simply claiming his 'unique' look as being a one of a kind sort thing. "You will soon learn that I am not easy to annoy."

From that entire explanation, Kurt will simply point out one thing for the moment: "There was a tree that grew cats?" Monsters, robots, the undead, and people with magical powers? Those all sound far more 'normal' than something actually giving life to animals that are not from that type of animal itself. "That is ... wow, this space trip just got even more bizarre."

He shakes his head, waving both hands in a somewhat dismissive manner, "I believe you. I mean, it sounds like something from a horror or sci-fi movie, which should not be as surprising, since we are supposed to be on a spaceship ..."

Kurt blinks at the laugh, lets his smile fully show and drops into a sit on the ground, glad to see that Peter is (hopefully) feeling better. "Calling me 'kid' will not be the same when I am normal again. Surely, you are not much older than I am."
