"That's almost familiar, you know. Someone saying they're glad they didn't know me well." He smiles, trying to show its a joke. A poor joke, but one nonetheless. "I'm not going to tell you to get lost kid. If you want to put up with me, sure."
He is used to having kids around, after all. He's hardly in the position to turn down friendships. And, well, even as much as he likes to pretend sometimes, Peter isn't enough of an ass to turn away someone who seems to actually like him.
"Yea," he responds quietly. "A lot did. I guess we were lucky that something about the ship sometimes brought people back from the dead. I think everyone who got died from it came back."
He snorts again, smile turning less forced and more true. "Yeah, yeah. You show me little boy blue."
