Kurt has to stop himself from audibly sighing out of relief when Peter seems to accept the answer. Yes, Charles had told him about Peter being here, but technically, he knew him from further along in the timeline and he didn't want to mess anything up with that.

"Mm-hmm," he responds, nodding his head and shifting to crouch, hands settling between his feet. "He is one of my teachers." As the larger mutant tries to sit up, he shifts to quickly stand behind him, tiny hands pressing against his shoulder blades and pushing with all his might to help him.

When he figures that Peter can hold himself steady for the moment, he moves back around to face him, shaking his arms to flop the sleeves of his coat (which is more like an oversized robe, given his current size) off his hands. Were his strange hands and feet, claws, fangs, and tail not enough to prove he was a mutant?

He reaches into the pocket of his jacket to remove his own small canteen of water, wrinkling his nose at the thought of the exhaustion he will be suffering later, but he takes a long drink anyway. The usual spark returns to his eyes, making him wince as his vision readjusts to the enhanced sense he's grown up with.

Then, he gets back to his feet, steps away a few paces and disappears with that tell-tale BAMF'ing noise, the only thing left behind being the lingering haze of midnight-colored smoke. He's only gone for a few seconds and when he reappears, it's in front of Peter once more, his head shaking to clear the disorientation, considering he hasn't done that in a long while. "Is that proof enough?"
