Yeah. It gives you enough to make the curses worse.
[Miller is used to disaster after disaster. Watching the threats of disease and nuclear war and engaging in constant efforts to save the world, knowing now Big Boss had been in his ivory tower the whole time. To a much lesser extent the Captains have been reminding him of that; he never sees them actually fighting.]
[But still.]
Ahab was about to be attacked while he was weak and in a coma. [Despite being blind to his truth at the time, he'll treat the tale as if Ahab were the center. After all, he told the man that if he didn't accept the sacrifices as having been to save him, they were ultimately a waste.]
So I went out into the field with a group of people. There were things sent after us. They were able to generate a mist. It was so thick we could barely make anything out, outside of our scout warning us there were "skulls in the mist". One by one, their voices went quiet over our radios. Next thing I knew I'd blacked out. That's when I lost my arm and leg. But over time, whatever that mist was ruined my eyes. Unlike with my arm and leg, it took it a little while to lose. I wore my sunglasses anyway, but after that I couldn't see without them.
Anyway. Long story short, they figured out how to fix what our experts couldn't do. With that, and all the things I learned... I was hoping we'd get here and a working Ingress would let us hang onto it. [Instead they get more mysterious bullshit, and no answers. No water, either.]
