Part of the problem is that his imminent death hadn't been quite so imminent a year ago. Another part of the problem is that he hadn't expected to meet so many people who would become close enough to him to be affected by aforesaid imminent death. There are definitely one or two things he would do differently if he were able to reset time.
But, alas, that's not a possibility.
"I'm not averse to company, if you're inclined to visit."
There really isn't much to be done. It is, unfortunately, very much a waiting game. And while he definitely had not expected to have much - or any - company while he waited, it seems Fate has decided to cut him a break. And so, on the whole, he really can't complain.
