"I probably won't be returning to the vents," he admits, a little ruefully. It is, of course, another severe understatement made by the understatement master; he definitely won't be returning to the vents - not in this lifetime, unless someone somewhere manages to pull a miracle out of nowhere, and soon. He's not hopeful, though, given as it is that he's already living on borrowed time. "In an ideal world, I'd much prefer a quiet position in the library."
