No matter how many times he did it, lying to Papyrus always made Sans feel scummy. Maybe it was in how ready and happily his brother believed him. A few carefully chosen words and it was like any momentary doubt or fear was erased at the arrival of Sans's too-easy solution.
He probably deserved better. He definitely deserved better. But unfortunately for them both, Sans was all he had.
"C'mon." Sans nudged, after a few more minutes of awed stargazing. "There's a whole ship to explore. Let's get to it."
It was one of the few times in their lives that Sans was the one pushing his baby brother to get moving, but hey. Guilt could be a pretty powerful motivator.
