[Nate can easily pass half a day in the library with his nose buried in multiple books, but when he's not on a research kick, he tries to keep busy rather than being a couch potato. Except today he can't get what he wants to do done, because he can't get where he needs to go. Whatever destination he decides on, it takes him at least three tries to find the right spot. This just prompts him to stride faster and with more purpose, and whoops—he's practically barreled right into someone. That's what he gets for being in too much of a hurry.]
Crap, sorry about that—I didn't mean to run you down. Or, uh, be here at all. [He runs a hand through his hair and sighs, exasperated.] Hey, are you having trouble navigating today or is it just me? Because I don't remember getting an incapacitating head injury, but...
[Aug. 18 - ~a weekish onward]
[Starting the next day, everything changes. Nate's still wandering the Moira, but from the expression of curiosity and wonder on his face, it's because he doesn't recognize where he is or know anything about where he's going. Those who have met him will notice that while he's still built with lean muscle, his frame is slighter, his hair is somewhat less puffy and there are fewer lines on his face. He's clearly younger—about 22, and with a fresh black eye standing out on his face.
Over the next week, he explores the ship thoroughly, visiting everywhere from the library (where he might check out books he's already read and doesn't remember) to the shooting range to the rec area's gym to the garden. He spends a considerably amount of time in the observation deck, but regardless of where he is, he's likely to greet you with a cocky grin and a more or less friendly greeting.]
[once a thief - early in the week]
[...always a thief. With few resources available to him, Nate turns to what he knows. If you 1) have a pocket or a convenient bag 2) look like you might have something worthwhile 3) are in a place where you're likely to bed distracted (so not during a one-on-one encounter in an empty hallway), well...you might just find you've been pickpocketed.]
