Padme would not be the first member of the crew to have searched out medical above and beyond the initial, intake exam. That exam tended to be perfunctory and done in the middle of absolute bedlam; not the best time for details.

The exam table he had motioned her towards was obviously equipped to deliver a full body diagnostic imaging. Unfortunately, it wouldn't make it any more comfortable than your typical medbay bed.
