The Ingress has pulled you in. Your body experiences several sensations at once: being pushed forward as if a hand is resting on your back, momentary and startling blindness, a gentle ringing in your head. You have difficulty discerning whether it is hot or cold, but where you have been prodded is noticeably warmer than the rest of you. Some may suffer from dizziness while others are perfectly fine. Once equilibrium has been reestablished, you will notice you are standing on a long platform and that the room is filled with a soft cerulean light. It's slightly humid and dark despite the glow around you, and various machines line the walls on either side, though they are not accessible from where you stand. Shortly after, you are led out and toward the medbay.
Inside this room, you are given a physical scan and sign a contract that states you are now part of the crew of the Moira with a specific job. This process consists of a complete work-up of medical history and current health, and afterwards, you are given your MID, a device that is integrated into your hand with only the slightest pinch. From there, you are guided out of the medbay and to your living quarters.

☄Crew members exposed to Exuo will notice that effects are slowly beginning to taper off. However, most will still continue to feel some agitation over the smallest things. Perhaps a visit to the UV beds will lighten that mood of yours.

☄MINI RECEPTION
Orders have been sent down to the kitchen to prepare something small but fulfilling for the entirety of the crew as a way to thank them for their hard work gathering supplies and returning to the Moira mostly unscathed. The mess hall has been decorated—kind of. There are small, tidy bows stuck to the backs of chairs and “party favors” spread out across the tables. These favors make a room smell sweet but are otherwise harmless. As a gift from Thán, he has provided the crew with a treat of sorts in addition to the foods the kitchen has prepared. All crew scheduled for morning shifts in the kitchen will have helped with these preparations. As a note, there is also a soft, unfamiliar melody coming from an old radio on one of the tables. The captains encourage everyone to relax, have fun, and get to know one another better.
Other areas of the ship are also open to exploration! Privileges for crew ranked Tiruncula** are as follows: (1) shift in kitchen and/or mess hall duties can be skipped each week without repercussions.

Mero Deck
Of course, she's even less stealthy, and she isn't under the influence of sedatives. Nope, her problem is that she is 100% shit at sneaking, particularly with those loud, metal feet of hers.
Bless her, that doesn't stop her from trying, though. She's crawling all over the damn barracks, investigating every nook and cranny with almost obsessive precision. Thus far, she has yet to run into anyone other than her roommate, so seeing Athena standing there as she's trying to creep her way down the hall comes as something of a shock. The gem squeaks and freezes up mid-slink, eyes as wide as dinner plates staring at the unknown entity. ]

The truth is, that yellow-eyed glare from her visor isn’t hostile. It’s more confused than anything else. She flicks through the helmet’s optical settings, trying to detect a glitch in the light or color filtering, but she doesn’t find one. She turns visual enhancements off entirely, but it doesn’t help -- the… being in front of her remains to be a very inhuman shade of green. And what’s wrong with its hands?
Athena knows she’s been spotted already and, more importantly, she wants to know what the hell she’s looking at. So she takes a step of the threshold of her room, head at a tilt as she regards the creature before her.]
What are you?

Completely floored, Peridot hasn't even the foggiest idea what to do here. Her first instinct is to just run, and avoid the issue altogether. But... ]
I... [ That single utterance is full of uncertainty, but just hearing her own voice helps her gain confidence. She straightens up and scowls, feigning confidence, jutting her chin up defiantly. ]
...should be asking you the same question.
no subject
I’m… [Her first instinct is to answer with her rank: Commander of Omega Squad. Except that isn’t really true anymore. It then occurs to her that that’s probably not the type of classification the creature had in mind.]
I’m human. [Which still leaves her own question unanswered. So she asks again,]
What are you?
no subject
Are you trying to trick me or something? Humans don't look like that. [ Peridot's not the best authority on what a human is, but she's seen a few since getting pulled on board, enough to know that they don't have weird outer shells like that, that's for certain. ]
no subject
A look of annoyance flickers across Athena’s features under her helmet at the creature’s own skepticism in her species. She has two arms and two legs, doesn’t she? And at least all of her fingers are properly attached to her hands, unlike some people.]
I’m not trying to deceive you. I am human, whether you believe it or not. [Her normally unemotive voice is even more clipped than usual.] As such, I think I have a better idea of what humans can and do look like than a… [She hesitates to use the unfamiliar term.] “Gem.”

no subject
[ No. No she's not going to admit that it's advanced looking. She's not going to compliment a total stranger. ]
...were capable of creating something like that. [ Harumph. ]
no subject
We’re on a spaceship. [Her tone is as dry as ever.] Or did you not think humans were capable of creating those either?
no subject
...but then she's sneering again. ] No. I didn't. Not where I come from. Besides, for all we know this spaceship could easily have been built by some other species and just, stolen by the humans captaining it!
no subject
[She doesn’t even know if there’s another species to steal it from.] This is a large ship. Even if humans did steal it, it would have been defended. In which case armor like this would have been necessary for staying alive.
And weapons. Unless you think they took this ship with nothing but sticks and stones.
no subject
Honestly Peridot's feeling pretty foolish by this point, a fact made visible by the dark green flush of anger creeping onto her cheeks, but what's she supposed to do? Admit she was wrong?
Not likely. ]
Well-- Whatever! [ She flings her hands up in exasperation. ] Humans don't have this kind of technology where I come from anyway, and they definitely don't wear things like that! [ She jabs a finger towards Athena's chest. ]
no subject
It sounds very… primitive. [Her tone is as even as ever, though it’s hard to miss the backhandedness of that observation.]
no subject
My planet's not primitive! We have technology every bit as advanced as what's on this ship and more where I come from, it's Earth that's backwards! We gems are plenty advanced, thank you very much!
no subject
I’ve never heard of “Earth,” so it could be as backwards as you describe. [She doubts it, privately. Who ever heard of a human civilization without space travel? How do they go anywhere?]
Where exactly is your planet? [Maybe it’s some sort of robotics hub? She’s assuming the creature in front of her is some sort of robot -- not like too many organic beings have fingers that don’t connect to their hands -- or at the very least a cyborg.]
no subject
no subject
I’m human and I’m from Pandora. So no. Not all of us.
no subject
But... But your kind hasn't even invented efficient space travel yet! From what I heard the farthest anyone managed to get was to Earth's moon, which is so close it barely even counts...
[ One hand goes to her forehead. The idea that in some other universe, humans have achieved what she assumes to mean planet colonization and space travel is... well. It's a little hard to reconcile with. ]
no subject
My "kind" does have efficient space travel, on top of Fast-Travel, space stations, and weapons that can reduce entire towns to rubble in a matter of seconds. If you’ve been staring at some backwater rock where the natives can barely get to their own moon, then you haven’t seen the real thing.
[She does not mention that the “real thing” also includes a lot of cannibals, bandit gangs, and nomadic torturers but hey -- at least they’ve been further than their own moon.]
