Observation Deck
But here, untethered, it was still beautiful, but the emptiness and silence was engulfing and frightening.
Hands white on the railing, Kairi gripped the bar like she might float off if she didn't hold on. And it takes a while for her to hear the soft whir of the program a few feet down the deck from her, and... well, she blinks for a few long moments because she's seen a few people come and go but nobody that glowed. So, call her curious, but she moves a little closer to the program.
"Hi," she says, gesturing with her head towards the view. "A bit... overwhelming, isn't it?"

User. Female. No threat in her nonverbals, though he isn't sure what to make of the query. (Not least of all because 'overwhelmed' is hardly a sentiment he'd admit to feeling.)
Rinzler bypasses the answer with an uncertain headtilt of his own. Why is she asking?

But the body language seemed to indicate a response, right? Maybe confusion? She clears her throat and gestures out the window again, to the stars.
"Its..." she blinks, trying to find the right word. "Big. A lot to take in?" She feels her ears go a little pink in embarrassment. Normally she was pretty good at this, talking to new people. Maybe the weirdness of the situation was putting her off.
"I'm sorry, I just saw you looking out and I guessed you were... kinda feeling the same way as me."

Typing takes a moment, then Rinzler holds up the phone with a response. It's not the most encouraging.
Probability: low.
That he's feeling the same. She is a user, after all.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize that you couldn't talk!" Feeling flustered and embarrassed, she reaches into the slim black bag hanging over her hip and pulls out a pad of paper and... and...
"Oh, darnit, where's my pencil? I know I had one!" She shakes the bag and makes an expression of dismay as the pencil just doesn't show up. "Ahh, don't tell me I lost it!"

(Frustrating) commentary about his vocal use aside (he didn't need to talk; Clu said), why is she looking for a pencil? He can hear perfectly fine. He'd answered her query—and squinting or not, his phone was certainly more efficient than manual writing. Is she making fun of him? Nonverbal behaviors would seem to indicate no, but he has no idea what else this could possibly be.
If or when Kairi looks up from her search, she'll find one murderbot eyeing her with deep suspicion. And growling, but that much is more or less a given.
